Loons with Chick

The Firebird was breathless when he rushed back from an afternoon swim at "our" pond.
"Bring your camera, the loons are in the cove with a chick!"

We rushed over and the parents had moved up the pond vocalizing with their chick. I was especially thrilled to see that we still have a viable population after the discovery of the dying loon we found on shore last year.
