To be considered a lake, the water area has to be a certain amount. There are bigger ponds than this one!

And this is not the whole of the pond in the picture, it is a cove. The pond continues up quite aways with several islands.

I have hiked it when it was frozen but not this year. Some soft spots-lots of springs, and we had a snowy, but mild winter.

I am a southern girl and too chicken to trust ice unless I see tire tracks!

The loon and I agree there is excellent fishing at the top of the old dam. :); 5/22/08, 1:01 PM
